How2boilwater.com is run by Karen Bretts and Denise Highfield who want to share their cooking skills and enthusiasm with others as they believe everyone can cook.


Karen Bretts

The company was set up by Karen who worked for a major food retailer, in Marketing and PR and was responsible for inspiring customers and employees to cook by creating recipes for various publications. This venture was started when her son went to university and he and his friends decided they needed some help and advice to survive in the kitchen. They have not become the next Jamie Oliver or Gordon Ramsay but have found the hints, tips and recipes really useful.


Denise Highfield

Denise worked for a catering company in London for three years then set up her own company which she ran until she had her second child. She now has three children and they along with her husband are all real foodies. Denise joined Karen and believes that they can teach others to have confidence in cooking and really enjoy making good and exciting food for friends and family.


The success of the Student Survival Courses spurred them on to run a wide range of cookery courses, including the popular Fresh Pasta Workshop enjoyed by teenagers as well as adults and the Japanese & Sushi Day.
