We are running the following cookery courses as part of the Berkhamsted School Base Camp programme this year. We would like to warmly welcome children from all schools who enjoy cooking to come along and develop their culinary skills.
Our courses have been designed so that young people, of all abilities, will come away with the confidence and enthusiasm to prepare and cook a variety of different meals for their friends and family. We have over 5 years of experience running cookery courses for children and young adults and look forward to sharing our interest and passion in food.
We will be based in the Food Technology Lab, Castle Campus, Berkhamsted School and this venue has the very best facilities and environment in which to learn to cook. All the ingredients, recipes, equipment and lunch are provided and everyone will go home with their own free recipe booklet

Teen Cookery Courses
The Apprentice ‘Pasta’ Challenge 14 -17yr
22nd August 10.00am – 3.30pm £65 Course Code: APC02
What you can expect…
Combine learning a new cooking skill with your team building abilities by taking part in our Pasta Challenge. Each team appoints a project manager, has to create a new pasta dish for a supermarket, design some packaging and then cook it and pitch it at the end of the day. A judge, (we can’t promise Sir Alan!) will decide on the winning group.

What you can expect…
Going off to university brings lots of challenges and the thought of self catering can be quite frightening. There seems so much to remember, shopping, recipes, culinary terms, which knives to use, food hygiene etc. Prepare yourself for life’s next great adventure by joining our Student Survival Cookery Camp. It might even take your mind off the dreaded ‘result day’!
You will learn a host of new skills including thrifty shopping, knowing what culinary terms mean, preparing & cooking food from scratch, how to use herbs & spices, techniques of making sauces, menu planning, hygiene in the kitchen.
We will give you an opportunity to cook simple, healthy and tasty dishes and come away with easy to use recipes and tips. Your confidence will grow with the knowledge that you can prepare quick and inexpensive meals.
Children’s Summer Cookery Camp
Young Chefs 23rd – 25th July 8 -13yr

Cook up a Summer feast for everyone to enjoy. Delicious dishes include a chicken & vegetable pie, crunchy fish fingers and strawberry shortcakes sundae.

Perfect Pasta 14th August 8 -13yr 10.00am – 3.30pm £65
Make your own fresh pasta then turn it into Tagliatelle and Ravioli served with a simple Italian sauce! Finish with a chocolate ice cream dessert, Italian style.
